BlueWaveNJ is teaming up with SiriusXM host, and North Jersey native, Dean Obeidallah to hold a town hall meeting in Montclair this Saturday with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy, the progressive group said Tuesday.
“Mr. Obeidallah will bring his perspective to the Q&A presentation before opening the floor to the voters,” BlueWaveNJ said in a statement.
The town hall will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 40 South Fullerton Ave. It will be taped live and air on Sirius XM Sep. 28.

Obeidallah — born in Lodi and raised in Paramus — is a lawyer, writer, comedian and host of SiriusXM radio’s daily program “The Dean Obeidallah show,” making him the first Muslim-American to host a national radio show.
Obeidallah was also the co-director/co-producer of the comedy documentary entitled “The Muslims are Coming!,” a film about Muslim-American comedians who performed free stand-up shows across the South and West to try to counter anti-Muslim bigotry.
