Lynnes Subaru is sponsoring a Pet Adoption Event in partnership with the nonprofit group, Supporters of the Bloomfield Animal Shelter (SOBAS), on Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will be held at their dealership located at 379 Bloomfield Avenue in Bloomfield.
Thanks to a grant from the ASPCA, SOBAS is able to offer adoptable animals with NO adoption fee! This applies to any animals who receive applications at the event or at the shelter during the weekend of the event (Saturday and Sunday, October 21-22).
Bloomfield Shelter staff and volunteers will be on hand with cats, kittens and dogs available for adoption. Lynnes Subaru will provide refreshments and giveaways for those who attend the event.
If you are unable to adopt an animal but want to help the shelter, you can stop by at Lynnes Subaru and drop off donations for the animals. Items needed include: dry/wet kitten and cat food (Fancy Feast), dry and wet dog food (Hills Science Diet, Pedigree preferred), regular cat litter, and everyday supplies (regular unscented bleach, paper towels, hand sanitizer, contractor grade garbage bags, detergent, dishwashing liquid, liquid hand soap, hand sanitizer). As always, monetary donations are welcome. You can donate online at the SOBAS website.
Donations to SOBAS are used for extraordinary veterinary expenses; educational and outreach materials for the public; supplemental food, supplies and training assistance for BAS animals; and other costs not covered by the shelter’s budget. All donations to SOBAS are tax-deductible.
The Bloomfield Animal Shelter is located at 61 Bukowski Place, Bloomfield. Adoption hours are 2-5 p.m. on weekdays (open till 6 p.m. on Wednesdays) and 1-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
