Montclair’s July 4, 150th-themed parade began at 11 a.m. and traveled along a 1.6-mile route on Bloomfield Avenue, Midland Avenue, Watchung Avenue and Valley Road ending at Edgemont Park, where a town picnic awaited parade goers. The parade featured sesquicentennial themed floats and performances by the Fralinger String Band of the Philadelphia Mummers, the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps, St. Columcille United Gaelic Pipe Band, Essex and Union County Marching Band, Wayne Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps, Montclair Community Band, Scouts, Applegate Farm, Uncle Sam on Stilts, Dan the Big Bike Man, Civil War marchers, Isabella and her hula hoops, community groups and organizations with floats and marchers and fire engines, antique cars.
