Bruce Lewis Terry, 68, of East Orange, formerly of Montclair, died on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at St. Barnabas Medical Center.

He was born in Glen Ridge, to Miriam Elizabeth (Darben) and Albert Terry on Nov. 20, 1950.

Mr. Terry was a self-employed plumber until his health diminished. 

He was a gifted athlete and an avid sportsman. He had a passion for coaching youth in basketball, teaching skills as well as sportsmanship. Mr. Terry’s love for the Dallas Cowboys began in 1960 and remained strong.

Mr. Terry was predeceased by his wife Belinda, son Rasheed Fuquan Graham, his parents, and brother William Terry Sr.

He is survived by his five children, Saleemah Graham Fleming, Zakiyya Sutton, Damion Ellis, Nadirah and Nafeesah Terry; brother Roger Terry Sr. (Roslyn); sisters Sandra Terry and Linda Brooks; aunts Rosemary and Chris Darben; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Union Baptist Church, 31 Conger St., Bloomfield. Funeral will follow.
