Hundreds rally in Montclair to support LGBTQ+ equalities in New Jersey. Garden State Equality states on their website they’re “working to ban the gay and trans panic defense, reform HIV criminalization laws, secure statewide funding for homeless LGBTQ youth, and pass a bill of rights for LGBTQ older adults.” The 10th annual walk, one of four statewide, is their biggest fundraiser of the year. First Congregational Church Sr. Minister the Rev. Ann Ralosky stated the church has a 15-year record as an open spiritual community. The funds raised at Equality Walk 2019 will support the work GSE is doing in the areas of policy, education, and health.
