As buildings close and events are postponed, arts and religious and community organizations are figuring out ways to stay available to their patrons. Studio Montclair Inc.’s gallery at 127 Bloomfield Ave. is closed, but art-lovers can see “The Place Called Home” exhibit at studiomontclair.org, and listen to a podcast about it.
The Garden State Film Festival, which had been scheduled for March 25-29 in Asbury Park, is now virtual. Go to gsff.org for more information.
Montclair Public Library is streaming storytimes on Wednesday, visit the library’s site for updates on this and other potential streaming services, montclairlibrary.org. Ebooks and movies are also available.
Watch Group Leader trainings for “America to Me: Real Talk Montclair,” which launched on March 1, will now operate as ZOOM meetings for trainers, on March 24, March 31, and Apri 7, 6:30-9:30 p.m. “America to Me: Real Talk Montclair” is a community-watch, like a community-read, of a 10-part documentary dealing with race. The Write Group is streaming its Tuesday morning,10:15-11:30 a.m. weekly support groups, while the library is closed. Other groups will also likely be streamed. Hank Quense has developed the substitute approach using Google Taskade. Those wishing to attend should email hankquense@icloud.com, who will send an email with the login link to the video chat room.
