Richard Thompson.

Parents Who Rock’s annual early spring benefit show featured local Montclair musicians and a rock legend, all making music to raise money to help detainees. Richard Thompson, one of “Rolling Stones Magazine’s” top 100 guitarists of all time, performed at Duets—It Takes Two, organized by Parents Who Rock.

Thompson performed with Montclair singer/songwriter Zara Phillips Saturday night at Bnai Keshet Synagogue. The event benefitted First Friends of New Jersey and New York, an organization dedicated to upholding the inherent dignity and humanity of detained immigrants and asylum seekers. The organization promotes compassion and hope through volunteer visitation, resettlement assistance and advocacy.
