Toni’s Kitchen is partnering with the Montclair and the Bloomfield Public Schools to ensure that all children receiving school lunch will have adequate food in their homes during the upcoming school closures. Each family will receive a bag of groceries and fresh produce every week school is closed.

Toni’s Kitchen will also be sending out meal bags to 80 seniors identified as at-risk by the Senior Services Department in Montclair. The Kiwanis Club of Montclair will be coordinating driving for this weekly service until senior programming is back to its regular schedule.

Toni’s Kitchen will continue regular on-site meal program but package the meals to-go to avoid large numbers of people sitting together in the dining room.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate food: Packages of oatmeal, peanut butter, tuna, raisins or other dried fruit, shelf stable milk, rice, pasta, sauce, beans and granola bars or other snacks for kids. Donate smaller sizes that are easy to pack. Toiletries are also welcome.
  • Make a financial donation: Toni’s will be purchasing large quantities of food, fresh produce, meal packaging, gloves, and cleaning supplies. Financial help is very welcome. https://4agc.com/donation_pages/057d0c3a-22c0-4e3c-b1fa-0c33e1da1b3a
  • Volunteer. There’s a need for additional drivers and small, short shifts for food prep and packaging of food bags. It will Toni’s at least 24 hrs to establish those shifts so check the website.
