Toni’s Community Closet is holding a yard sale on Saturday, May 8 (rain date May 15) to benefit Toni’s Kitchen, a food ministry of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

The yard sale runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the lawn of the church, 73 South Fullerton Ave. It will include clothing, housewares, toys and other items. All items will be priced to go.

Toni’s Community Closet is a thrift shop project of Toni’s Kitchen. Through repurposing gently used clothing and housewares, Toni’s Closet ensures access to these items for low-income neighbors in ways that respect their dignity and strengthen their independence. Toni’s Closet is located at 23 Broad St. in Bloomfield and has regular hours on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Toni’s Kitchen has been experiencing tremendous growth in the need for fresh, healthy food since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. In 2019, Toni’s Kitchen provided 227,000 meals in the community. In 2020, over 1 million meals were provided, and Toni’s Kitchen continues to see increasing need, especially among families.

Toni’s Kitchen will use funds raised at this sale to support its work in the year ahead.
