Teglia Pizza Bar making us hungry again.

When it comes to pizza, you can get some pretty amazing pies in and around Montclair (Bivio in Montclair and Aquila in Little Falls immediately come to mind and of course, there is Star Tavern in Orange and Blue Steel Pizza in Bloomfield). The latest entry into the local pizzascape, Teglia Pizza Bar, offers something different and delicious. Teglia opened in what was best known as the former Mancini’s pizza spot on Bloomfield Avenue. There are few tables for seating but you’ll see towers of to go boxes ready for pick up. Teglia is cranking out crave-worthy pies with a menu that makes it hard to pick just one. Order several and you will have leftovers to make you happy for days. Teglia’s rectangular pies are HUGE and perfect for sharing.

The Butternut pie ($18) at Teglia — roasted butternut and mascarpone puree topped with oven roasted tomato and garlic, baby kale, shaved parmigiana and fresh onions.

Favorites so far include the Sweet Heat ($18) featuring cured and fresh Italian sausage, Fontina and mozzarella, Tomato, basil, Calabrian Hot honey and The Farmer ($18), heaped with roasted eggplant, cherry tomato and spinach, Gorgonzola dolce, and finished with pickled onions and arugula. You also can’t go wrong with the Roni Cup ($18) or Mushroom Pie ($19).

Get all your veggies with The Farmer pie from Teglia.

Teglia is a family business; call and they are super helpful and will modify a pie (we had our Farmer without cheese for a vegan family member). You can also order easily online.

Pizza is enough of a draw to get us to Teglia, but there’s talk of pasta dishes and other menu items coming soon as well. We are here for all of it.
