COVID-19

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The BDHHS is now offering Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to Bloomfield residents. A clinic will be held at the Bloomfield Civics Center, 84 Broad St, Bloomfield, first floor on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 2-4pm. Appointments required.

If interested, call the Public Health Nurses at (973)-680-4058 to schedule an appointment. If you are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine but cannot make the October 27 clinic, please call the Health Department at (973)-680-4024 for additional availability.

“The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective and free and is key to us getting fully past this pandemic,” said Mayor Venezia. “I encourage all residents who are eligible for the vaccine and have not yet gotten it to make an appointment today. Should you have any questions about the vaccine, our Health and Human Services staff would be happy to answer them for you.”

The COVID-19 vaccines are always free of charge, regardless of residency, immigration status or health insurance status. No ID is required. No questions regarding immigration will be asked. Must be 18 years of age or older for J&J and Moderna vaccines. Residents must be 12 and older for Pfizer.

Getting vaccinated is key to ending the pandemic. The risk of severe illness from COVID-19 is increased for some groups — including older adults, people with underlying medical conditions, immunocompromised people, and pregnant people. Booster doses and third doses are now recommended for some groups of people who are at increased risk for illness from COVID-19. Booster doses are common for many vaccines. We encourage people to get vaccinated as soon as possible and mask up in crowded public spaces. This is how we are going to end this pandemic and keep it behind us.

Residents are reminded to report any side effects to FDA/CDC Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). The toll-free number is (800)-822-7967 or report to vaers.hhs.gov/reportevent.html.
