Where do you live? Bloomfield

When did you move there? I moved to Bloomfield to downsize last summer after raising my kids in Montclair.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in NYC.

How do you make a living? OR What is your everyday passion? I have a jam business, Jana’s Jammy. I also am a long-time volunteer at Toni’s Kitchen.

Coffee, tea, or … ? Coffee in the AM, tea in the PM.

What’s your idea of a perfect weekend day? Perfect weekend day is going to the city with my kids, Maya and Aidan, and going to MoMA, where I worked many years ago, spending the afternoon looking at art, then going to have a nice meal or see a Broadway show.

What’s your favorite local restaurant? Favorite local joint is Elyssia’s Kitchen. Sublime dumplings!

What’s on your nightstand? Currently, I have too many books on my nightstand. Now reading The Leopard by Jo Nesbo.

What are you listening to? Listening to Lianne La Havas and Marcus Miller.

What are your current indulgences? My current indulgence is fresh peanut butter from Dry Goods Refillery on Bellevue Ave in Upper Montclair. And cheese from Van Hook Cheese and Grocery. They also sell my jams there.

What talent would you most like to have? The talent I would most like to have is courage to sing in front of an audience.

What’s the worst-kept (or best-kept!) secret about Montclair or your town? The best kept secret in Montclair is that volunteering at Toni’s Kitchen is the most fun you will have all week, and everyone should try it!

What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? At my funeral, I hope folks will remember me as a kind person and that I was a badass in the kitchen.
