The Northeast Earth Coalition will host its 7th annual Acting Locally for a More Sustainable World Conference virtually on Feb. 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Keynote speaker Gar Alperovitz will speak about how the work going on in communities today is the pioneering work of a sustainable economic new age, according to a Northeast Earth Coalition press release.
Alperovitz is a distinguished political economist and historian who lectures widely about system change and what you can do, the press release said. He is also a co-founder of The Democracy Collaborative, co-chair of The Next System Project and has written or co-written 11 books.
Other conference speakers include Executive Director of the New Jersey Environmental Justice Alliance Melissa Miles, Executive Director of the Catholic Climate Covenant Jose Aguto and Director of the PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies Amy Tuininga.
Local groups will be available to meet virtually online with participants for networking and to share information about their programs and projects, according to the release.
