The NJ Storytelling Guild is hosting an online workshop titled “What’s in a Name?” with storyteller, teacher, author and recording artist Peninnah Schram on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.

The workshop will explore sources, meanings and various connections to names and how they have influenced in us.

“Our names carry many meanings and blessing in various traditions. Names can shape our lives and personalities,” Schram said.

Schram is the author of 13 books of Jewish folktales, including “Jewish Stories One Generation Tells Another.” She is co-author of “Jewish Stories of Love and Marriage: Folktales, Legends and Letter.”

Schram is also the recipient of the Covenant Award for Outstanding Jewish Educator and she has been awarded the National Storytellers Network 2003 Lifetime Achievement Award “for sustained and exemplary contributions to storytelling in America.”

Anyone interested in register for the workshop can email NJStorytellingGuild@gmail.com. NJ Storytelling Guild members will receive before the event begins.
