The Montclair High School girls volleyball team will be sponsoring a car wash and bake sale to benefit the volleyball team on Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Montclair High School Annex Circle on Park Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $10 per vehicle through cash or Zelle at mhsgvballboosters@gmail.com. The booster club, through donations and voluntary dues, pays for whatever equipment is not paid for by the school district which includes volleyballs, carts, nets and equipment upgrades along with practice shirts, strength training workouts in off-season and pre-season, team photos, senior banners for the gym and senior night celebration. Many of the players come up through the Middle School clinics the team runs in the winter as well as the town Middle School Suburban league. There are more and more players each year who have prior experience playing club volleyball, but there are still girls who learn by attending summer workouts.
