Where do you live?

Little Falls, NJ.

When did you move there?

Six years ago.

Where did you grow up?

The Islands.

How do you make a living? Or, What is your everyday passion?

While growing up, I had a passion for the visual arts, and I became a self-taught artist who created a variety of crafts. I like crafting because, at the end of a crafting experience, I feel I have accomplished something tangible and beautiful. Crafting also provides me with the added benefit of relaxation. I’m hosting an Easter Gnome Workshop on March 23 in Upper Montclair. Join me!

Coffee, tea, or …?

I like the sweet and tangy blend of fruit teas like Orange and Raspberry Zinger.

What’s your idea of a perfect weekend day?

I lived in New York for several years, and I like to go on weekends to get in touch with the culture and bask in the hustle and bustle of the big city. When at home, I sometimes reminisce about a slice of warm, decadent pizza I used to enjoy for just $1 and Michael’s for discounted craft supplies.

What’s your favorite local restaurant?

I like to visit Charm Thai in Montclair when I want something light and delicious. The Chicken Pad Thai with a hint of spicy green sauce enchants my taste buds.

What’s on your nightstand?

A metal lamp with a textured fabric shade.

What are you listening to?

” Hero,” by Mariah Carey.

What are your current indulgences?

Fresh blueberry muffins.

What talent would you most like to have?

Interior design.

What’s the worst-kept (or best-kept!) secret about your town?

It’s home to the Morris Canal.

What do you hope they say about you at your funeral?

Karen had a passion for crafting, and she was tenacious and diligent.
