June 1 @ 10:30 am–5:00 pm
Get ready for our most anticipated event of the year… the MAAHF Parade & Festival! Step into a world of music, culture, and celebration at the vibrant community event. Established in 2014, this annual extravaganza pays homage to the rich heritage and contributions of African Americans in Montclair. The event begins with a lively parade that weaves its way through the town, showcasing colorful floats, marching bands, and dance troupes. Two distinguished individuals are appointed as Grand Marshals each year, adding an air of honor and reverence. Following the parade, the festivities continue in Nishuane Park, where the festival comes alive with live performances, art exhibitions, delicious food, and activities for all ages. This immersive experience brings the community together to celebrate the legacy and accomplishments of the African-American community, fostering unity and appreciation for their profound impact on Montclair’s history and culture.
