Free family fun! Join us from October 17-31, 2022 for Scarecrows in the Gardens, an exhibit of handcrafted scarecrows created by scout troops, nonprofits, local businesses, families, classes, and individuals on display in our gardens. While visiting us cast your vote for the best one in each category–we’re leaving the winners up to you!
Scarecrows will grace the beautiful grounds and winding pathways of Van Vleck House & Gardens. From traditional scarecrows to dark-and-scary tributes to Halloween, from repurposed and upcycled creatures to sewn-and-stuffed homages to characters inspired by history, mythology, film, or literature, the only limit is your imagination. All entries are welcome as long as they are family-friendly and homemade.
