In honor of Arbor Day, on Friday, April 26 (2-5 p.m.) and Saturday, April 27 (10-1 p.m.), the Montclair Environmental Commission and Montclair Public Library have teamed up to offer Montclair residents FREE native-to-New Jersey trees.

The majestic Red Bud, Pin Oak and Black Gum tree seedlings will be available while supplies last. Last year 250 native trees were given away to residents. The giveaways will take place at the library café at 50 South Fullerton Ave.

On Saturday, ISA Certified Arborist Lucinda Landon who can answer tree-related questions. If you can’t make the dates but still would like to plant a local tree, the Township website lists them here: tinyurl.com/yyfnrqd8.

MEC and MPL ask you to send a photo of your new native tree and you to Mtcenv@gmail.com to be counted in efforts to grow the community tree canopy.
