This Friday marks the one-year anniversary of the tragic murder of Monica Paul at the Glenridge Ave. YMCA in Montclair, and her family and friends are organizing a walk to raise awareness of domestic violence and support for Monica’s Law. The walk is planned for Friday, June 26 at 5 pm at Glenfield Park in Montclair and participants are urged to wear purple.
A trial for Paul’s estranged ex-husband, Kenneth Duckett, is planned for July, pending a mental evaluation. Duckett was indicted by a grand jury in February.

  1. Just so everyone doesn’t think yourmother and I are nuts..the story first had the date for June 6,,which is why we both said what we said.
It was then changed to June 26

  2. I cannot believe that it has been a whole year. I can’t go to the YMCA without thinking about her murder happening. Thinking about Monica, her children.
I hope the man that killed her is behind bars the rest of his life, even thats not enough.
It’s good to hear that her family is trying to help others and keep her spirit alive.
    I’m gonna go on Friday.
