Today is November 1, but nobody told the roses at the Brookdale Park Rose Garden to stop blooming. As I was walking to the Strut Your Mutt parade, I stopped to take notice of these beautiful end-of-season blooms, and to literally smell the roses.
If you have a chance to visit the roses before the first hard frost, do so. You’ll see lovelies like these.

Six (6) out of ten (10) BPC Board members resigned between the July and August of this year and improprieties in both the last general election and Board meetings have been alleged.
Seems that there was mistreatment of Board members at the hands of the Chair and co-Chair and now what is left is the dregs of what had once been an energized and focused conservancy.
A thorny situation, indeed.
But beautiful roses nonetheless.

What a waste of a good organization. What a waste of the talent that it’s membership offered. What a waste.
It’s a shame the organization fell apart.
