  1. Montclair Superintendent Alvarez is “studying” the idea of closing tomorrow.
He has asked that his cabinet do a top down analysis of the “notion” of closing schools.
He balked at the idea of closing the schools a “day before” a storm. Scratching his nasty beard, he said he didn’t understand how other towns could do that, “really? They already made a decision?” he was overheard saying.
Alvarez has asked that the study to determine if the schools should be closed tomorrow be completed by May 15.

  2. profwilliams- You are always so negative. You really should give it a rest. Dr. Alvarez is awesome. Maybe you should post a picture of yourself so we can all poke fun. Pretty please…

  3. prof, I must admit that I find it somewhat cowardly that you so viciously and frequently besmirch Alvarez on this very public community site while hiding behind your computer screen. Fine, you don’t like him and don’t agree with his decisions and approach, but write a letter, sign your real name and give it a rest. Pretty please….with sugah on top?

  4. So much for dissent being the highest form of patriotism.
    SORRY GUYS….. He’s a bum!!!
I pay a TON of taxes and that allows me to criticize my “leaders.” (Or in his case, someone in a leadership position who has failed miserably to show ANY leadership.)
And guess what? Even if I paid NOTHING. I STILL get to criticize him.
He is not a private citizen. He is the Super. By taking this job, he has held himself out for all to agree and criticize.
That you are so in love (or dumb) to think that anyone who criticizes a civic leader must post their own pix only shows how limited your understanding of this great democracy is.
Moreover, your idea that I only write here is based on what? Should I tell you every email, message and letter I write to the guy?
Would that make you feel better?

  5. And to make sure you all don’t have to be so wounded by my criticism of Dr. Alvarez, I will limit my comments about him to a simple comment of: “… Oh, Alvarez…”
In that, you will all know what the prof is feeling- sans the negativity.
There. Doesn’t that make this snow day that much better?
I hope so. Because the prof is all about love.
Time to shovel. Enjoy the snow.

  6. I’m not wounded by your critcism of him, prof. I just find it tiresome, overdone and lacking grace. (Read, pathetic.) And I’m not saying that some criticism is not warranted, by the way.
Just my opinion, of course, that has and will do nothing to effect change. It just brings about an attack from you. That’s fine. Are you really all about the love?
Hope you, too, enjoy the result of this magnificent snowclone.
