  1. Why would you do South Orange, & not Maplewood ?

Maplewood blows every town away! In Maplewood Center the re-cereate Charles Dickens Village, with elves, Santa, a petting zoo with small animals, a story-teller, photos with Santa and the small animals,
Community signing songs of the season, a wide viseo screen, and a huge heyride for tots, teens and gtowen-ups. In addition, because Maplewood honors all faiths, openly, they also have a Chanukkah party, and and a hidden treasure hunt for the wee folks, plus the singing with adults & children of Chanukkah and Christmas songs. They serve all hot chocolate, holiday candy & homemade cookies. It is 100-percent FREE !

  2. Sandy,

As of today, Maplewood Township told me they have no info on the town tree lighting. A person at the Rec. dept. said she hasn’t heard anything about it.

We’ll be sure to update when Maplewood Township puts out the information.

We have a story coming up on Dickens Village, but I didn’t include it in this post because it’s much more than a tree lighting.

    Stay tuned!

  3. What I recieved was in the Town’s paper, the South Orange – Maplewood “News-Record” – not this week’s issue, but last week’s issue. Not sure of the DATES, I do not recall if they even posted dates there, or not – – but they have something different EVERY early evening, like 5:30 – 7 PM
Parking is absolutly impossible, wear flats !! 🙂

  4. Sandy,

Your enthusiasm is wonderful. I checked back with Maplewood Village and they just posted Dickens Village info, which includes a tree lighting. It seems the township doesn’t organize it–Maplewood Village Alliance does.

    I’ve added it.

    Happy Holidays!
