WINNER: Congratulations to kgoldberg123!
It’s been a very tough couple of weeks. We think you all need some cheering up. And what better than a chance to win tickets to a feel good holiday production?
Discover the magic of Dr. Seuss’ classic holiday tale as it comes to life on stage at The Theater of Madison Square Garden in NYC. Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical!, will feature the hit songs “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas.” The Grinch discovers there’s more to Christmas then he bargained for in this heart-warming holiday classic. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” decides to steal Christmas away from the Whos, an endlessly cheerful bunch bursting with holiday spirit. The musical will run at The Theater at Madison Square Garden from December 13 through December 30.
The New York Times calls it, “An Extraordinary Performance! 100 times better than any bedside story.”
Barista Kids is so very excited to offer this giveaway—in fact it’s making our hearts grow three sizes today! Thanks to the generosity of the The Theater at Madison Square Garden, we have four tickets to see Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical! One lucky reader will win them!

But this… this sound wasn’t sad. Why… this sound sounded glad. Every Who down in Whoville, the tall and the small, was singing, without *any* presents at all! He hadn’t stopped Christmas from coming, it *came*! Somehow or other… it came just the same.

Welcome Christmas while we stand, heart to heart, and hand in hand.
“What a great Grincy trick – with this coat and this hat, I’ll look just like St. Nick”!
It’s because I’m green isn’t it?
Cindy Lou Who says: Santa, don’t forget the Grinch. I know he’s mean and hairy and smelly, and his hands are cold and clammy, but I think he’s kinda… sweet.
Every Who down in Who-ville, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any presents at all!
He HADN’T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
“Christmas doesn’t come from a store, maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more….”

Christmas Day will always be
Just as long as we have we.
“And what happened, then? Well, in Whoville they say – that the Grinch’s small heart grew three sizes that day. And then – the true meaning of Christmas came through, and the Grinch found the strength of ten Grinches, plus two!”
All the Whos down in Whoville liked Christmas a lot! But the Grinch who lived North of Whoville DID NOT!
You’re a monster, Mr. Grinch.
Your heart’s an empty hole.
Your brain is full of spiders, you’ve got garlic in your soul.
Mr. Grinch!
I wouldn’t touch you with a…39 1/2-foot pole!
And what happened, then? Well, in Whoville they say – that the Grinch’s small heart grew three sizes that day.
I love the Grinch! I really want to take my girls to see it. They would love it!
My little guy would love to see this! I like your quote too…What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.
and he, he himself… the Grinch… carved the roast beast. I’m not sure if that’s my favorite. I just wanted to put a different one 🙂
And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: “How could it be so?
It came without ribbons! It came without tags!
“It came without packages, boxes or bags!”
And he puzzled three hours, `till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!
“Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store.
“Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
“And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store? What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more?”
Blast this Christmas music. It’s joyful and triumphant.
The nerve of those Whos. Inviting me down there – on such short notice! Even if I wanted to go my schedule wouldn’t allow it. 4:00, wallow in self pity; 4:30, stare into the abyss; 5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one; 5:30, jazzercize; 6:30, dinner with me – I can’t cancel that again; 7:00, wrestle with my self-loathing… I’m booked. Of course, if I bump the loathing to 9, I could still be done in time to lay in bed, stare at the ceiling and slip slowly into madness. But what would I wear?
And what happened, then? Well, in Whoville they say- that the Grinch’s small heart grew three times that day.
Welcome, Christmas, bring your cheer. Cheer to all Whos far and near. Christmas Day is in our grasp, so long as we have hands to clasp. Christmas Day will always be just as long as we have we. Welcome Christmas while we stand, heart to heart, and hand in hand.
And what happened, then? Well, in Whoville they say – that the Grinch’s small heart grew three sizes that day. And then – the true meaning of Christmas came through, and the Grinch found the strength of *ten* Grinches, plus two!
The Grinch is such a classic. My girls will surely enjoy this!!!
“He puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore.”
“Pop guns! And bicycles! Roller skates! Drums! Checkerboards! Tricycles! Popcorn! And plums!
And he stuffed them in bags. Then the Grinch, very nimbly,
Stuffed all the bags, one by one, up the chimbley!”
And the Grinch grabbed the tree, and he started to shove
When he heard a small sound like the coo of a dove.
He turned around fast, and he saw a small Who!
Little Cindy-Lou Who who was not more than 2
Blast this Christmas music. It’s joyful and triumphant.
“The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season! Now, please don’t ask why. No one quite knows the reason.”
Oh the who-manity
“Pop guns! And bicycles! Roller skates! Drums! Checkerboards! Tricycles! Popcorn! And plums!
And he stuffed them in bags. Then the Grinch, very nimbly,
Stuffed all the bags, one by one, up the chimbley!”
We sing this line in our house, “welcome Christmas, while we stand, heart to heart and hand in hand” while we decorate our Christmas tree. My kids love this movie and we would love to share the experience of seeing it live.
Be it ever so heinous, there’s no place like home

Santie Claus, why? Why are you taking our Christmas tree? Why?

Maybe Christmas, the Grinch thought, doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas…..perhaps….. means a little bit more!
Love the Grinch…
Favorite quote is also “He puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore.”
It’s because I’m green, isn’t it?
And he puzzled three hours, ’til his puzzler was sore.
So hard to pick one line, but this will do:
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before! Maybe Christmas he thought doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more.
You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch!

“And he puzzled and puzzled, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!
‘Maybe Christmas,’ he thought, ‘doesn’t come from a store.
Maybe Christmas… perhaps… means a little bit more.'”
I love that this story’s a play! I think this family will go either way 😉
