tim gunnFirst there was the sold out show featuring Ira Glass. Now The Seth Boyden Series: a conversation with culture announces the upcoming appearance of Project Runway’s Tim Gunn live on stage in SOMA’s Columbia High School  on Sunday, March 17 at 7:30 pm.

Tim Gunn is the Fashion Dean at Fifth & Pacific Inc (formerly Liz Claiborne Inc). He also serves as co-host of the six-time Emmy-nominated “Project Runway,” a reality-based fashion design incubator, the eighth season of which broke all previous seasons’ ratings records. “Project Runway” received GLAAD Media Awards in 2007 and 2011 and a Peabody Award in 2008.

Prior to joining Fifth & Pacific Inc., Gunn served as a member of the administration and faculty at Parsons School of Design for 24 years.  In August 2000, he was appointed Chair of the Department of Fashion Design at Parsons with the charge of retooling and invigorating the curriculum for the 21st century.  Under his direction, the department was repositioned as the indisputable leader in fashion design education in America and as one of only a handful of leading programs in the world. Upon leaving Parsons, Gunn received the title of Honorary Chair of Fashion Design at the school.

Gunn gives a good deal of his time to charitable organizations, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline, GMHC, the Hetrick-Martin Institute, Bailey House, and the Human Rights Campaign.

The Seth Boyden Series was created to raise funds in support of a new playground and Outdoor Learning Center at the Seth Boyden Demonstration School in the Maplewood/South Orange NJ School District.

Tickets for The Seth Boyden Series featuring Tim Gunn are $50 for Premium Seating (first five rows of the theater, general admission seating) $35 for advanced purchase (general admission seating) and $40 at the door.  They can be purchased on-line at: https://sbseriesgunn.brownpapertickets.com.  For more information please call:  973.327.3016.
