aunt jean's toys & treatsAunt Jean’s Toys & Treats, a wonderful toy store in Montclair for the past seven years, has announced that it will close.

What a great seven years it has been with you.  Thank you all so much for supporting our shop. This decision took many long discussions with my family but we have decided to close our doors. Our mission has been complete, we started with a bang and we want to exit with wonderful memories of Aunt Jean’s.  We hope over the years that you have enjoyed our product selection, fun activities and conversations.

aunt jean's toys & treatsOwner Jeanette Lauture did much more than sell toys. She has been a big contributor to the community, organizing Block Parties to raise money for local charities and causes, throwing a great Spring Treasure Hunt in Crane Park complete with a visit from Pat the Bunny, and much more. If there was something fun for families happening in Montclair Center, you can bet that Jeanette had her hand in it.

Jeanette tells Barista Kids, “I opened Aunt Jean’s Toys and Treats with the hopes to bring a creative twist to the toy business, to engage our community and most of all to inspire children through play. I feel we have accomplish that and more. Looking forward to more re-inventions of Aunt Jean.”

Every December, Aunt Jean’s got Santa himself to visit. If you look forward t that each year, good news. Jeanette says that she will have a meet and greet with Santa the  first weekend in December with photographer Krisztina Crane. Details on where and when will be in her newsletter.

Aunt Jean’s will hold a closing sale beginning today, September 15 offering 33 percent off.
