Montclair Center Farmers’ Market

Montclair officials gathered on South Park Street yesterday to celebrate the grand opening of the Montclair Center Farmers’ Market, aka Farmers’ Market 2.0!

Vendors lined the street offering fresh, organic products and produce. Sally Owens was there with her “So  Tasty Vegan” Roasted Corn Bisque and Cauliflower &  Kale Quinoa Bowl. R&L Greenhouses came in from Pompton Plains selling a wide variety of potted plants and hanging flower baskets. There was Heritage Valley grass fed, pasture raised meats. Baked goods were plentiful at Baker’s Pantry. The Lakeside Maple booth had a trail mix which was baked in pure maple syrup, was all natural and was crafted in small batches.

Montclair’s Alma Schneider of “Take Back The Kitchen“offered testings of her homemade deodorant which uses safe, natural ingredients that are found in the kitchen. At the corner at Bloomfield Avenue, Race Farms of Blairstown had fresh picked greens, beets and asparagus along with containers of hummus and gazpacho made with their own farm fresh ingredients.

The Montclair Center Farmer’s market will be open every Tuesday, throughout the summer, from 1 pm – 7 pm. Rain or Shine. More vendors are expected as the season grows.

One reply on “Scenes From Opening Day at the Montclair Center Farmers’ Market”

  1. I visited the Farmer’s Market tonight and wanted to share that it was fantastic — different vendors from Saturday’s Farmer’s Market and delicious options.

I hope that this market is better promoted, however. The crowd was sparse and a vendor told me it had been pretty much that way all day (I came around 6 pm). I only heard about it from reading this article, and I would hate to see this wonderful idea not thrive due to a lack of promotion.
