Your latest Montclair restaurant and food news:

Turtle + The Wolf

  • We’re told that the highly anticipated Turtle + The Wolf will be opening this week. The website is complete and reveals some exciting meals and options. For parties as large as 8, a Chef’s Table will offer unique family style dining options. Dinner will be served beginning at 5 pm and brunch will served on the weekend.

villa victoria

  • Villa Victoria Pizzeria is expanding. They took over the liquor store next door to offer a dining area for the first time since opening on Park Street in 1996. Fans of the pizza (it’s my personal local slice) and their pasta dishes, sandwiches, salads, and more will be able to enjoy a meal there around mid-November, says owner Edy Arito. “The dining will accommodate 75- 80 people. The outside dining area will accommodate another 25 people. Villa Victoria will be a classic Italian restaurant with red and white check tablecloths and a chianti straw bottle with a red candle on each table.”

Cranetown

  • Montclair gets a new Chinese restaurant with Cranetown located at 44 South Park Street in the Siena Building (spot of the former J K Steakhouse and then Heritage House). The website says the restaurant offers “progressive Chinese dining for those of us who appreciate tradition but welcome new ideas and flavors. We value the tried and true, yet can’t wait to try the unusual.”

One reply on “Montclair Food News: Expansions and Openings”

  1. We’ve now tried to eat at Cranetown the last two Friday nights without success. Same deal both weeks – call them, get a recording with their hours of operation. We drove by last Friday, and a sign on the for stated they were ‘closed today.’ Not exactly the best way to encourage clientele.
