Bloomfield Animal Shelter (61 Bukowski Place) is holding its first adoption event of the year this weekend.
The “Spring Fling” event will feature an open house with refreshments from noon to 5 pm on Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 20.
All adoption fees will be reduced substantially during the event. Adoption fees for dogs will be $75, and for younger cats and kittens, $25. Cats three and over will be free! All potential adopters will be screened by the staff, as always, to ensure they go to good homes.

BLOOMFIELD ANIMAL SHELTER SHOE DRIVE: The drive started March 15. For every 250 pairs of shoes collected the shelter will receive $1000! Shoes go to areas where they’re needed and animals get the help they need. It’s a win/win!
All shoes are fine, just basically no worn or beat up shoes. Boots and children shoes are also accepted.
This drive will continue for 60 days. So please bring your shoes to the Bloomfield Animal Shelter at 61 Bukowski Drive, Bloomfield, any day. The shelter is open 7 days a week until 5 PM and on Wednesdays until 7 PM.
