Montclair Crew dominated at The Stotesbury Cup, the oldest and largest high school rowing regatta event in the world, held Saturday, May 19, after a last-minute switch to Cooper River in New Jersey when the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia was determined to be unsafe to host the event in part due to recent rains.

Montclair Boys Varsity Eight won the Stotesbury Cup for the 2nd year in a row! Montclair Girls Varsity 4+ were also winners as were Montclair’s Lightweight Girls, who brought the Phyllis Graham Cup back to Montclair nine years after Montclair had last won it!

Also at the event: Montclair Boys JV8 won bronze; Montclair Boys 2V8 and Girls JV8 both won silver.

  1. What a tremendous season and an incredible program. Kudos to the MHS Crew Team and to Jeremy and Lorna who have built this world class program along with the many parents and families that have supported the program over the years. The entire town should be immensely proud of these tremendous athletes.

To the Varsity 8 Boys (and girl) in particular, Bravo! Good luck in Cali and in Henley! We’re cheering for you!

Montclair has the State and National Champion teams in Crew! What an incredible achievement!
