Partners for Women and Justice, a Bloomfield based non-profit, recently received a $10,000 grant from The Montclair Foundation. The grant will support Partners’ legislative and judicial advocacy efforts for victims and survivors of domestic violence. In 2017, Partners launched an advocacy initiative to address the systemic – and sometimes dangerous – problems faced by victims of domestic violence. By focusing on systemic change Partners’ advocacy initiative has the potential to benefit all victims of domestic violence, including those in the Montclair area. Approximately 20% of Partners’ clients reside in Montclair and the surrounding area.

“We are so grateful that the Montclair Foundation is once again supporting Partners’ important work with a very generous grant,” says Executive Director, Jane M. Hanson. “The Foundation’s continued support plays a key part in Partners’ ability to expand its reach to address systemic problems faced by domestic violence victims.”

Partners for Women and Justice is a 501(c)(3) organization. Since its founding in 2003, Partners has helped thousands of victims and their children secure orders of protection, child support awards and safe visitation and custody arrangements. Partners’ programs provide technical and procedural advice, counsel and legal advice, pro bono legal representation and referrals. Partners strives to empower victims to assert control over their own lives and take steps to protect themselves and their children.
